Craftfest

We have a stall at this year's Craftfest, which you can see here, we'll also be open for business on Sat/Sun 15th/16th November and Sat/Sun 29th/30th November, so would love it if you pop over today or one of the other dates and have a look at all the lovely goodies we have for sale. We have three more of our Christmas card kits available, they are priced at £2.75 for a pack of five cards or £5.00 for two packs - all post free. Each kit contains 5 white 5"x5" card (240gsm, pre-creased) blanks with matching white envelopes, seasonal paper and fabric pieces, ribbons, embellishments, instructions and suitable greetings - and, with the exception of the greetings and some of the images which are cut from recycled cards, all contents are new.

Back in the summer we gave our friend Jean a couple of tag kits to send out to her granddaughters in Australia. Don't you just love the colours of this blanket, lovingly hand crocheted for us by the Yarnbirds? The finished size is 30" (76cm approx) square, which makes it ideal for a cot or as a small person travel blanket, and it can be all yours for just £12.00, postage included.

Pretty in pink

We do love a nice bit of crocheting in the evenings in front of the telly, sometimes we make little squares to sew into larger ones, and sometimes we just start a square and make it larger, and larger, and larger. That's what happened to this one, it just kept growing until we had run out of yarn. It is now taking up valuable space in the studio, so is really looking to be adopted into a new and loving home.

The yarn is HAYFIELD-SIRDAR FANTASY DK Self Patterning Knitting Yarn - PINK 291, which we bought on ebay for £22.50. The blanket measures 50" (130cm) square and weighs 1 kilo, so postage costs, according to the Royal Mail website, would be quite extortionate (£8.00). Therefore you would really need to be able to collect this from us in Warminster and be prepared to make an offer in excess of £25.00. Your patience is rewarded

Harry, Rick and the birds have been busily beavering away for the past couple of months and we are at last ready to launch ourselves on our unsuspecting public.

So, what is it we've been working on? Well, briefly, we've been gathering our assets to put together some craft kits, namely greetings card kits and tag kits. The kits contain all that you could possibly want or need to make your own cards or tags.

All kits are unique, each card kit contains 5 new white 240gsm pre-creased cards, either 5" x 5" or 6" x 4" (or a mix if preferred) with matching envelopes, paper pieces, fabric pieces, ribbons and embellishments, partly new and partly (clean) recycled, all you will need to complete your kits are scissors, glue and imagination. Here's a Christmas one we made earlier just to give you an idea.

Tag kits contain 6 pre-holed tags in a choice of colour/s from pink, yellow, white, pale blue, red or green, approx 2.5" x 4.5" with paper pieces, fabric pieces ribbons and embellishments as above.

All kits, both cards and tags, are available in Christmas packs or everyday packs, and all are despatched postage free to good homes (if you have a bad home we'll have to charge!). Below is a picture of the contents of one of the ready-made tag kits.

The gang are more than happy to fulfil specific colour requests for all tag kits (card kits are currently only available in white but colours may become available later), or you can take pot-luck and ask for one of our ready-mades. Either way, despatch will be within 24 hours of receipt of your order and payment. Card kits are priced at £2.75 each or two for £5.00, tag kits are £1.75 each or two for £3.00.

These kits will give you a good start into making your own cards on a fairly low budget, and are suitable for children and adults alike, our youngest customer so far - who admittedly needed a bit of help from his mum - is not yet two, so we could quite rightly claim they are suitable for all ages from toddler to dodderer.

In the mean time, here is another sneak preview, a couple of examples to show what you might be able to make from our card kits.

Kits contain 5 cards and matching envelopes with various embellishments, and come in Everyday packs or Christmas packs. Cards, envelopes and most embellishments are new, most of the Christmas images and wording are recycled from pre-loved cards received by us.

Hats

Some time ago, I'm guessing it must have been at least three years ago, well before we moved house, a friend sent me a load of baby and child sized hats that her mum had knitted, for me to sell, as at the time I was fund-raising for the WAA

I sold a few, and then, when we moved house, I packed them away and, I'm ashamed to admit, I forgot all about them. Recently, while doing a bit of a decluttering exercise of my knitted items and yarn stash, I came across them again, so I am now going to offer them up for sale under Station Harry's umbrella, so to speak.
